The frame is an excellent example of the work of French designer optical studios of the late 80s and mid-90s. Famous names in this field were Alain Mikli and Jean-François Rey, who were later joined by the IDC workshop founded in 1985 by designer Pascal Lacotte. Lasting until 2004, the team he formed at IDC won 7 Silmo d’Or awards, a renowned frame design competition held annually in Paris.
