A short interview with one of the first clients. About the collection, the nineties and Odesa.
– Tanya, how did you meet Hello Glass?
– The first meeting was virtual. I ordered 7 pieces of vintage. Flowers and all sorts of fun things. I don’t remember the company. It was sent by train back then. [Tanya from Odesa].
– Did you count how many pairs of points you have?
– I didn’t count the number of pieces. There are 250 for sure.
– Do you remember the clothes of the 90s? What did you wear?
– By the way, I have never worn any trends in my life. I looked at all sorts of photos – the outfits look absolutely relevant, you can wear them now, timeless. In the 90s, I wore a lot of loose clothes – huge pants and tops. In the 70s and 80s, you had some great outfits! I used to get clothes from speculators. In the mid-nineties, Beneton appeared in Odesa. The quality of the clothes was excellent. And the styles were simple and tasteful. By the way, I also bought glasses from the Fartsovskii sartorialists back in the USSR (like all decent people) at 12 Deribasovskaya Street, where we all hid in the courtyard. Both speculators and buyers.
– How has your appearance transformed?
– Over time, the look has evolved to cover oneself from head to toe. Hence the 250 pairs of glasses and the hat on his head.
– Tanya, Nicholas Jaar is playing at your house right now. What else do you listen to?
– The music is completely different: from Pugacheva and VIA of the 70s to… Anything that comes to mind. Now I’m more into old stuff. Both distant and not so distant. There are not many discoveries in contemporary music, to be honest.
– And a few of your favorite places in Odesa?
– Kukla, Pachka, Dacha restaurant because of the garden, Foti Five because of the location, delicious buns and cocktails, Taverneta because of the food, Bernardazzi because of the beauty. I think you can forgive the not-so-good food for that.
